Launching Shiftmap: An Easy Way To Compare Sitemaps And Preserve Your SEO

I'm incredibly excited to announce the launch of our latest tool—Shiftmap.
The Challenge of Site Migration
At Lightning UX, we've had the privilege of helping many clients transition their websites to new platforms. While redesigning and redeveloping these sites often brings fresh aesthetics and improved functionality, it also typically introduces changes in URL structures.
As anyone who’s managed a website migration knows, handling URL redirects can quickly become an overlooked task amidst design approvals, content updates, and technical implementation. Especially on larger sites with hundreds or thousands of pages, keeping track of every URL can become a daunting challenge.
Unfortunately, neglecting URL mapping can lead to broken links, lost SEO authority, and a frustrating user experience—a scenario no one wants to encounter after investing so much time and effort into a beautiful new site.
Introducing Shiftmap
To solve this exact problem, we've built Shiftmap. This simple yet powerful tool streamlines the process of managing sitemap differences during website migrations.

With Shiftmap, you simply input your old and new sitemaps—either by pasting the XML content or directly using sitemap URLs. In seconds, Shiftmap compares them side-by-side, clearly showing you:
- URLs that have been removed from your new site.
- URLs that have been added to your new site.
- URLs that remain unchanged.
This immediate clarity saves you hours of manual checking and helps ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Seamless Integration with Webflow
Given that Webflow is the industry standard for complex site builds, we designed Shiftmap to integrate perfectly with Webflow’s built-in redirect system. After identifying URLs that need redirects, you can easily:
- Copy specific relative URLs directly from Shiftmap into Webflow to set up individual 301 redirects.
- Export the complete mapping as a CSV file, perfect for bulk redirects.
While designed with Webflow in mind, Shiftmap’s CSV exports are also compatible with other popular CMS platforms and redirect tools.
Free and Easy to Use
Shiftmap is completely free to use. We built this tool to simplify the migration process, helping designers, developers, and digital marketers manage URLs effectively without hassle.
We hope Shiftmap makes your next site migration smoother, preserves your hard-earned SEO authority, and enhances your overall UX workflow.
Try Shiftmap today and let us know how it works for you.
